The Earth Prize

The Earth Prize is a competition where students are inspired, educated, mentored and empowered to solve environmental sustainability problems. I was approach by Firefly films to create an animation style that was in line with their brand, for both data and narrative, to sit within a series of narrated films they were creating.

The animations were split into two. There was a series of animated information graphics to help explain some of the more technical and scientific parts of their films.

Infographic showing energy sources: 11.4% renewable energy with wind turbines, 4.3% nuclear energy, 84.3% non-renewable energy with oil rigs and factories on a blue grid background.
Illustration of a city with skyscrapers, wind turbines, and solar panels on a grid background.
Infographic of planetary boundaries with global map background, showing categories like climate change, biodiversity loss, and ocean acidification on a circular grid.
Illustrated map of India with various crops embedded, like wheat and corn.
Illustration of a circle filled with various clothing items representing textile waste, with a label showing "1% Recycled" indicating a small portion is recycled, set on a teal grid background.
Illustration of stacked books on sustainability topics: sustainable cities, renewable energy, sustainable farming, responsible consumption, biodiversity conservation, against a teal grid background.
Illustration showing various electronic devices like laptops, tablets, phones, and a mouse on a teal grid background. Text reads "53.6 Million Tonnes Electronic Waste."

Then a second series of animations to help tell more creative stories within their films. The animations were anything from 5 seconds long to 1 minute and slotted neatly into their edits.
